i got the sponge removed yesterday. while he was at it he cleaned out my ear too. ouch! that's what i literally said about a dozen times during the procedure. it wasn't fun nor did i get the instant relief i had expected...it's not only still sore, but i still can't hear. what gives? i want to start going to the gym next week, but without being able to use the ipod, it ain't gonna happen. so, let's everyone make a collective prayer for me to heal by monday at 8:30am.

i thought that losing hearing in one ear was making me feel "spacey" which i like. after some more thought, i figured out that it's not the deafness, but rather the 6-8 codeine's a day i've been taking. nothing like the oxycontin i took last weekend, but still quite pleasant.

on other non-ear fronts, both my legs are totally bruised. i'm hoping it makes me look tan.

well actually getting sick takes all the fun out of being sick. turns out my ear is infected and has been in constant and unbarable pain for the last three days. i spent most of friday in the waiting room at the eye and ear hospital on 14th street. the doctor put a sponge in my ear and gave me some drops and tylenol with codeine to last three days.

i blew through the pills by saturday night and, in a moment of craziness, removed the sponge myself.....so, i got some better and stonger meds from my mothers medicine cabinet (i was very tempted, but didn't take any of the mophine pills) and went back to get a new sponge on sunday. i had a kind of sexy doctor who i tried to flirt with in between wincing with pain. i made her laugh three times, which was good enough for me.

anyhoo, this infection has made me appreciate being well. no, i won't become humorless about it, but my wife won't tolerate my complaints anymore, so i need to decide if i should change the theme of my blog. please advise.

so i went to the doctor yesterday and it turns out that i am suffering from Extreme Wax Build Up Syndrome (also known as EWBUS or "yoobus" in many medical and support group circles). i had to self administer the medication with an eye dropper. there was a warm sensation before the foaming occured. it crackled and popped in my ear as it melted the wax. i love it and could do it all day. however, i woke up with my ear feeling very sore and swollen, which i hope will go away soon. actually, there is so much pain in my ear i am almost neglecting all of my other ailments. almost....

woke up with the regular headache and stomach ache. i am excited to announce that i have an actual doctor's appointment today to get my ear looked at. i know that none of you were taking my ear problem seriously, so i am eager to be validated. please check in later to find out the diagnosis.

my brother in law mentioned how "topical" i am and it reminded me of the really, really bad blister i got from my dr. scholls, who i decided must actually be a dentist. the connection being that even a topical ointment didn't help the throbbing pain.

i went to the gym, so maybe that's why i have some soreness in my back.
however, i still think most of the pain is from falling down some marble stairs last week.
my ear is freaking out and i have to get it checks out.
i think the mrs. should cool it with the early morning "singing"....

ouch.
my stomach hurts.
piercing pains shooting through me.
could it be the chirashi? the watercress salad? stress? knife wound?
